Illustration, Rattan Crafts@Rattan Basketry, Rattan Sketch

Yuuhuu..Alamak nak berkulat dah blog restnrileks ni. Sorry people. It has been a while. Currently i am swarmed with works. So, today, i ve decided to post something after being "nudged" by one of my fellow bloggers, asking me to update my post. The first one is a quick illo which i haven't got time to finish. It was supposed to be for last week IF theme - "worry". However, as i drew, i changed it to something else and therefore, passed last week theme. Hey!! I still manage to fulfill my weekly quota of one Illo per week right?. : ) So, here it goes : Miss Jha'leen is having fun dancing with other mythical creatures deep in the forest. She just goes to her favourite spot, far from the rest of the community, and dance all her way. No worries about having to be a ladylike fairy. Huhu.. Yeah you go girl!!

2nd is a collective pictures of another rattan crafts - Rattan Basketry Coiling Technique. Just few variations on different colours used. Idea development on form has not been carried out yet. Basically, these baskets still retain the basic form. Nevertheless, using colours and patterns do tell us how to improve and pay attention on certain areas. We also agree that certain types of dyes should only be used when applying coiling technique. So, in the future, we hope to come, at least "okay" when trials on forms take place. (Though we know making certain dynamic forms would not be easy as ais kacang.) Ohhh.. please do not pay attention on my working desk..yeah i know, it is a bit messy. Hehe.

3rd, is a sketch done by one of my final students (NorAmin), which i really hope will turn well as a product. "From concept to reality" as we always say. If not, then i guess we will have a good laugh then, haha. Alas, though we have counted every aspect in terms of design, there are always still possible unforeseen circumstances that may arise. (Harap2 idak la). This is a design of dining table of four - Modern Artistic Piece is the direction. The legs will be weaved using spiky technique (not shown in the picture). Single Weave (Anyam satu) will be on the back rest. The Seat and the table top will be weaved using various techniques to create certain pattern. Colour theme : Black and orange. Material used - Wood, Metal and Rattan. The design is somewhat difficult to construct since we have reduced the basic supports and replaced with certain ways of jointing. The illusion is to have it look not sturdy enough for its lack of supports (legs might wobble for chairs and table), yet, still sturdy. Hopefully, our calculations would be right. Kalau tak, habiss. I ll post the finish piece in three weeks time from today.

Ohhh..in answering few bloggers comments : -
Shinade - selamat berjaya bersama EC yer. I am still trying to keep up with the droppings. Slow connection has somehow made me not a successful dropper. hehe. I have yet to link you. :)
Phatelara - Udah update blog ni dan siap bersih2kan sawang kat blog ni lagi. Bau wangi tak sebab dah spray dengan ambi pure blog ni tadi.. hehe..
Bro Zubli - Sorry tersilap taip..bukan Rizal yang kena assess..tapi Rizal yang assess budak2.. Haha.. Result , Rizal pasti repeatkan 3 orang pelajar. Hehe.

So, there you have it. My quick three-type story for this post. Heppi blogging and have a great day everyday yaa..

Illustration Friday - Theme : Wide & Rattan Fairy : )

This week IF theme is : Wide. Frankly i am a bit lazy since i am swarmed with works. But i have promised myself that i ll try to make at least an illo per week. I am not going to submit this work on IF. Anyway, here it is. Wide : "Beauty" is just happy to be married to "Mr. Short and Wide". :) The truth is, Beauty is skin deep. It takes more than just a good appearance to win over someone's heart. Appearance is good for starter, but later, the rest will take its place.

I was "YMing" with Mangosteenskin when it struck me to do my own style of Fairy. Hehe. It would be nice too to see if others would come up with their own version of fairy. While chatting, we were having fun of how a fairy might be look-like according to a certain artist style. Well, to see Mangosteenskin Fairies - See Here (Petal) and here (Pickle.) Hehe (chuckle.) Well, my fairy is a Rattan Fairy. Unlike other fairy, she does not fly. She just glides on the forest floor, leaving a trail of Rattan butterflies. She has no wings but tentacle-like-feature in her back. 8 of them. They keep moving you know. (Sort of Dr. Octavious in Spiderman 2.) But dont get trick by her sweet look. Annoy her and her tentacles will "whooposh" you. Sure "berbirat." Haha. You can call her Miss Jha'leen as in "Jalin satu, jalin dua..jalin tiga." Well, she is on her way to meet Petal and Pickle. She brings her favourite rattan beg too. I guess they are on their usual shopping spree thingy. hehe.

Alrite.. there you have it. My Illos for this week. Hope you enjoy, happy blogging and have a great day.

Huhu.

Inilah dia produk kraf ribu-ribu.

@damn

Orait, hehe.. fuh fuh.. rasa nak tergeliat lidah dok cakap dengan penuh sopan-santun kat atas tadi. Tapi rasanya, sekali-sekala, apa salahnya.

Tu kalau masuk, memang bersepah-sepah rotan sana-sini. Eishhh budak2 ni, sepah-sepahkan rotan yerr.. Kau tunggu laa nanti aku masuk, jegil2 mata..baru hang pa semua tahu. hehe. Terus terang, bengkel bawah ni dah agak "cramp." Semester 6 - seramai 13 orang belum lagi buat final projek. Satu orang full set. 13 orang jawabnya berapa banyak ruang nak pakai. 13 buat full set perabut. 9 buat single seater dan satu meja kopi dan 18 orang buat satu kerusi rehat panjang dan meja sisi. Semua ni berjalan serentak dan semuanya kat bengkel ni laa. Unit pengurusan, tolonglah..dah cramp dah bengkel bawah ni. Tolong segerakan bengkel baru rotan.. 4 tingkat new building seperti yang dibincangkan hari tuuu yerr.. tolong cepat sket yerr.. hehe. tahap-tahap nak dekat final ni. Haha.. Been there done that masa student. So, hopefully.. dalam akhir bulan 6, sempatlah post semua produk2 baru yang dikeluarkan. Rasanya tak laaa nak tepek semua, tapi separuh jer.. kang panjang lebar laaa pulak jadi satu post. Oraitla, rizal pun tak nak mengepek panjang2.. sebab rasanya ni pun dah cukup panjang. Tunggu jerr laaa nanti rizal post gambar produk rotan lain pulak. Huhu. Kena kembali semula mengejarkan illo IF yangtak siap-siap. Tema mudah, tapi hai kena cam "Creative Block" err kira cam "Writer's Block" kot

Orait..apa-apa pun selamat berlibur, selamat menaip papan-papan kekunci dan selamat menyambut hari yang baik setiap hari.

Illustration Friday - Theme : Electricity

This is something that i did earlier today, spontaneously. I didn't plan as how it was going to be. I was actually waiting for my boss to finish his meeting at hq. Getting bored, i asked a paper from my colleague and then, i just kept on drawing. Well, this piece is just another reflection of me. How i feels after getting an idea. Feels like being zap @ electrocuted. Hehe. Then this whole energy of electricity just makes me want to try everything and every style. Haha. But at the end, i ll always resort back to my own style.

Heppi blogging and have a great day everyday.

Illustration Friday - Theme : Seed

Well, finally after missing two IF themes, i am back. So here it is, my IF - "seed". It is actually a three-piece story made into one illo - mainly left, middle and right. Nothing fancy but just straight to the point. The seed(middle) is made of "sugar and spice and everything nice" hehe. See the left part where all things nice are dropped to make that seed. Now, what the seed needs are a little bit of patience, perseverance and constant love and passion. And finally, there you have it, it blooms into something unexpected - still in its "sugar and spice and everything nice" way. Ohhh of course with a bit of few punches here and there occasionally. My "Seed" illo is actually a reflection of my blogging experience. There..as simple as that. Hehe..

Anyway, hepi blogging and have a great day everyday ya.

Sabah Ohh Sabah..

Well, i was in Sabah from 29.04.08 - 2.05.08 for my "lawatan kerja sambil melancong" buleh? hehe. This was my third trip to Sabah. I was in Kota Kinabalu, Tawau and Semporna to be exact. It was a scorching hot on the day we arrived at KKIA, but then thunderstom took over the next day. Knowing that i would be in KK, i took the liberty of bringing my ATC to pass them to mangosteenskin. Yaa..the ATC Swap Thingy. Heck, i did my first layer colouring on 8.00 am that morning and finished all three on the plane. Haha. The passenger next to me was curiously looking most of the time while I tried to finish my ATC. Even skipped my meal (but still took the food la) .

So, on the first day, i finally met, that creative Sabahan blogger known as Mangosteenskin. Mango n hubby picked me and my colleague - Linda. We had a great time. Both of them were very warm and made us felt very welcoming there. Got a bit of history here and there, especially more details on Pulau Gaya. Mango's Hubby used to work in tourism industry, and that would explain the excellent PR. Clap! clap! They even drove us around the whole KK and got a chance to see the KK Times Square. Up close and personal. Had our dinner - On Mango's hubby treat ( thanks again) - at Jesselton. Nice surroundings in spite of few unexpected things. I guess we all now learn something there. hehe. :) I guess, we have made ourselves (me and Linda) new Sabahan friends. You rock (Manggo and Hubby) huhu.

Now, when going for a trip, be it for business or pleasure, one cannot avoid the experiences of "makan-makan." Oh my, such experiences!!. From the delicious cheap seafood, spicy mouth watering tomyam, sweet and tender payau (deer) soup, heavy sup banjo to drinks like refreshing Ginseng Flower Tea. I think i put some weight now after eating all those great food. Haha. But, it would be a sin if you didnt try any of that. And please, dont even think of diet if you are on a trip. That would be just soooo wroooonggg.. unspeakabale!! hehe You can always do your workouts later once you get back home. Even though it was a business trip. "Makan-makan" was having the same weigh ratio. Haha.

Manggo and hubby treated us again for another great breakfast. Ayoyo, i was sweating all the time from eating that hot n spicy food. Keke. Then, off to market.. Hubby even belanja us some ikan kering (thanks again Hubby). Later, Mango accompanied me and Linda to Pasar Filipin. Well, as expected, Linda was rambang mata looking at all those stuffs. Yeah i just call them stuffs. Haha. She ended up buying quite some items. Heck! and she did bargain, bargain and bargain. She was good. Haha. Ohhh, swarovski dear?

Well, here is a picture of Kota Kinabalu -A glimpse from signal hill. We walked on the whole town to experience what it had to offer on the first day we arrived there, at night though. Pasar malam, shops, bars, watching people semua kami tgk dan redah..haha. Well, i like the fact that you can experience a bit of this and that on the town itself, and all on walking distance. I am pretty much sure that KK can offer something for you on all these three things - see, hear and taste. :)

Well, here are some pictures of things happened during our visit there. I think few will just do fine.

Last but not least, the Peak a Boo story. Haha. This was something i must say. On my second night, i experienced what we all would say as "entity" in my hotel room. Huhu.. While watching tv, i thought i noticed a black figure just poking out from the dress sliding cupboard. It was like a three second peek-a-boo movement - from in-out and in again. I just ignored it thinking it might be my black t shirt hanging in that cupboard. Then, there it was again for 2nd time (three-five minutes later). Mannn, i got this rush of heartbeat but i stayed calm, ignoring, just kept my eyes on the TV. Kept saying to myself it was my black tshirt. Now, the third time, that black thing was coming out even further. It was like this figure of a thing from side view - pochong like style but was fully black. Ohhhh mak kao apocot!!! Tak sanggup den. I quickly rushed to that cupboard and closed that thing immediately. I had this chill feeling on my neck. I kept walking back and forth in my room and every time i walked to that cupboard, i got this chilled feeling and tremendous goosebumps on my neck. At the same time, i was having a terrible stomach ache. Damn! damn! Now, kept saying to myself, "ni kalau masuk tandas..keluar2 tandas mender tuu tercegat depan tandas..mau aku jerit satu floor.." Lastly, i called Linda and asked her to stay in my room while i took a quick shower and a **** haha. Luckily nothing happened for the rest of the night. I did want to change to another room actually. Haha. What an experience!!

All i can say, Sabah trip was great. Met my blogger friend and met new friend - Manggo and hubby. Tasted that delicious food. Saw people. Understood and respected those cultures. And Played Peek - A - Boo. Haha. In terms of ranking(my personal ranking though) - Sabah is definitely in no.1 (no.2 is Langkawi) of all states that i have visited in Malaysia.

Well, i guess now it is back to usual stuffs. Oh my, i have missed two weeks of Illos - Primitive and Wrinkle. "Seed" I am on and ready to go. Have a great weekend and hepi blogging yaa.
