Gosh!! it has been more than a week since my last post. Few things happened, but nothing fancy though. I was asked to judge a Handicraft competition that of BAKAT ATM year 2008 (with 3 others of course : my colleague, Incik Salikin - yup that famous fashion designer, and Prof Dr. Najib of Uitm). It was fun, the food was delicious and the hospitality was great too. They were really having great great fun time going berserk, in errr.. fun way when it was time to handout the prizes ( I guess they let themselves loose after all..ya la.. knowing how serious they must be during normal office hours :) ) Even I joined them screaming out loud though i had no idea who the winners were. I was going "Whoa.. yeahhhh huuuhu.." Yeah, just being a good sportsman i was. There were all 8 categories. Kudos to the organizer. The organizer was generous too giving all participants souveniers (plus monetory tokens). I made some calculations there while they were giving out prizes..err 8 x 8.. each received err RM.. 3rd 2nd 1st would receive.. therefore.. err by the end, i came up to a conclusion that.. lots of prizes and money were giving out, whoaho!! I was made to know that it had been 8 years since last they had anything like this. No wonder all the mad house running a muck here and there. Tee Hee. Lastly, all judges were giving.. errr some token as a sign of appreciation. Kaching!! kaching!! which led me to ordering Pizza Hut that night. Nyum nyum.

On a different note, how is your Page Rank doing? Up.. down..or remains the same. Mine just staying at 3. Cant say i am happy nor i am sad. But I am glad and happy that few of my blogger friends have theirs moving up one notch higher. Syabas! Ahli-ahli blogger. Teruskan usaha mu. Overall, i am happy as my technorati soars (Thanks Ginie), Alexa has gone to below that million
mark (used to be 2 million something ahak ahak) and PR remains. I realize now that blogger does offer in Malay (Bahasa Malaysia). Oh! i went to see Kak Ida Scrapper (this doesnt sound right - i mean the name..hmm) on Tuesday, finally ending the long waiting of wanted to give her the last of rattan frame. Check it out here.


As usual, i just do a bit of doodling in my spare time, extending to the next page of my previous doodling. Sorry about the quality. I just took using my camera handphone. Too lazy to use my digi cam. Btw, does anyone feel the heat lately? ssszzzzz.. The heat has somewhat become unbearable. Do drink plenty of plain water ya.


Whoaho! I was more than happy when I received Pupu ATC last tuesday. Previously, i informed Kak Aishah (my office clerk) that I was expecting packages.. I went on mumbling like.."Kak Aishah, nanti ada packaging simpankan yer.. ada dari Brunei, Indonesia, Kanada, Malaysia..dan Malaysia dan Malaysia..Malaysia..Malaysia" She was puzzled. When Pupu's arrived, she quickly rushed to me.. hehe..Yeah Pupu.. you are the first sender. Syabas ya!! One down, 14 more to go. I love her works. Awesome and creatilicious..as expected. Well, she has not only made 3 Atc but more like 3 sets of ATC. Each set comes with a personalised greeting card just for the lucky swapper, an ATC and a laminated gocco printed work of her which bears a mark of.... ahhhh i just let the lucky swapper read it later. I just post one set only..which i think is quite fair and more sexy that way.. haha.. keeping the adrenalin rush on, waiting for all to arrive. huhu..

I am submitting two illos for this week theme. On the left, is an illo done using water-colours. Well, the whole pack of restnrileks decided they had enough!! of Mr.E (Ohh..Mr.E is Mr.Entrecard..hehe). So, they decided to throw him out of the desk. The Maaaasterrrr seemed to be paying too much attention to Mr.E, that he had hardly spent quality time with the pack. Now, thing wasnt always like this previously. "Sugar and spice and all things nice"was how they described it. For the greater good of their master, they had to act. Geranimoooooo!!.. whoa hoaa.. dush dush!! Want to know more about the pack? On the right is another doodle which i did during my office meeting (the usual "mesyuarat JKP"), hehehe. Didnt take long to finish. It was almost an hour work while the meeting however strecthed to three hours (hmmmm..eyes rolling). Done all the outline work and coloured them using watercolours at home. That took me almost an hour too. Lately, i just can get enough of doing a doodle. :)

Ohh, i stamped "restnrileks"(hand-carved rubber stamp based on my header) on the left illo made by, who else.., the creative blogger, known as Mangosteenskin. But i just call her mango, which is entirely a different fruit name, hihi.

I am sure all those wonderful hand drawn ATCs have finally reached their new homes. And i am sure too the new owners are happy as i speak. I know I am. Hehe. Speaking of ATC, that would bring us to the 2nd ATC swap thing. I am taking the liberty to host this one.. Yeaaayy! Any objections?? ( I am still going to host anyway hehe..chuckle) Previously, we were commenting (or discusing) on blogspehere on how this should be carried out. We came to a casual decision that the first should be hosted by Mango (Mangosteenskin), 2nd by me, 3rd by Kak Emila and 4th and so on, by anybody who would be interested on hosting.

So, here i am annoucing the 2nd ATC Swap. Due date will be on 31st August 2008. It is pretty obvious isnt it, to Malaysians at least. Since that date will be our National Independent Day, (Hurray Merdeka!!) thus, the theme is Independent / Independence. So, now you people out there, come on and get busy.

Oppss, restnrileks tukar ke Bahasa Malaysia pula yer. Peraturannya mudah :
1. Setiap peserta hendaklah menghasilkan 3 kad ATC hasil lukisan kraftangan asli -hehe chechewah nak juga tuu guna ayat "kraftangan"- (handmade / handrawing) dan bukannya yang dicetak (not printed).
2. Saiz adalah berukuran 2.5 in x 3.5 in setiap satu.
3. Hantarkan ke tiga-tiga kad yang telah disiapkan dengan sepenuh hati jiwa raga anda itu kepada saya. (Untuk alamat, sila email saya di talrasha2007@gmail.com / atau tinggalkan pesanan secara "off line" di ym pada talrasha2004). Hati-hati!!, dimaklumkan bahawa wujudnya kebarangkalian hasil kerja anda mungkin hilang di dalam perantauan seperti yang telah dialami oleh Che Pupu kita dari Brunei. Ohh! sedihnya kami.
4. Bagi mendapatkan aroma hasil seni yang lebih menggiurkan, disarankan menggunakan kertas yang berkualiti. Pasti syoknya lebih terasa! Whoaho!! Namun ini hanyalah saranan.
5. Pada tarikh ini, walaupun kemelut ekonomi yang melanda negara terasa, restnrileks akan tetap berusaha menaja sampul surat dan juga setem kepada para peserta.

Well, my package has finally arrived. Yup, the ATC that we do. Since this is an ATC of "3 of 3", so i receive Debbie, Kak Emila and Mangosteenskin cards. Whoaho! Simply Brilliant and love them all. They look awesome "up close and personal". I am glad that i took part, I can now savour my own moment with these marvelous cards. My preciousssss... my precioussss...




Went to MPH Jusco Maluri and bought myself three books ( This was around 9pm just now). They are Monologue A6 Skecth Book ( not for sketching though but will serve as my handy note book), You Can Draw (which i have long wanted since i read about it on Kak Emila's blog) and Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows Hard Cover. Previously, i read the last chapter of HP on my lappy on e-book format which was killing me. Imagine, 2 straight days sitting on my chair trying to finish that 700+ pages in PDF format, fingers clicking on the mouse, click! click! click!. I even skipped quit a number of pages. You cant get the same feeling as actually holding a book. So, buying the last book has finally completed my collection. I think i am going to read it again, faithfully, haha. Now, i m waiting for three more movies to complete my DVD set Collection - Half Blood and Deathly Hollows which will be made into 2 movies. Yeahhhh i know, I am nuts about Harry Potter.. Expeccctoo Patranummm... hehe

Ohhh that small white book is a hand-made note book given by Kak Emila, embellished with her own design. I did some doodlings onto it-using black ink and red pen- apart from the ready made "I love doodling" word. Hehe. That just proves that "I love doodling.." Whoaho.. Mekasih Kak Emila.

Love this "You Can Draw" Book. Price at rm29.90 This book will serve as another handbook for beginner like me. Been hunting this book for months. Too lazy to go to Borders or other book stores, so my previous hunting was based on bookstores nearby. Once i saw one pak chik bought the last book previously at MPH Jusco, then i asked that pak chik "ohhhh pak chik beli untuk siapa?" hoping that he would put it back.. Arghhhh tak berjaya hamber berkias-kias denganya. Hehe. So, finally, I have it. hehe. So, if you are a beginner like me, go and hunt this book wokey. Tak rugi, macam-macam ada.. hehe..

It has indeed been a while since my last IF illo. So today, i think , i submit something simple. This is not a new illo but based on my previous IF themed Electricity. I choose to do fully digital after Kak Emila commented that i should try using Wacom tablet. Hence, i did. Have had that Wacom for 2 years, but never used it until recently. Took a while for me to get used to it. But, with much practice, i think i ll do ok in the future. Sour - Just a rush zappy feeling you get right after tasting a sour orange. Ohh! Masamnya.. Illustrator and Wacom Tablet.

This is a free design graffiti that i won from Mas Antown blog. Ohh Mas Antown is a creative Illustrator from Indonesia who blogs about art. You should go ahead and check some stuff that he has done-Creative and very cool indeed. He was organizing a "Kontes #2 Komen Pedas" that i though i just gave it a try. My comment was even commented back by Antown as "pedas banget.. Cabenya sekilo." Aiyork, i thought i was just giving a good criticism. Huhu. Never thought that i would win. Nevertheless, lucky me i guess. I like how he has come up with my name. Simply Marvelous. Thanks ya Mas Antown. Mekasih. :)

On other note, this is Miss Suuraam, a cousin to Miss Jha'leen. I guess, since weekend is here, Miss Suuraam is on her way to see Miss Jha'leen. She lives on the other side of the realm though. Dark and murky it is. Life is pretty much harsh here, where one will feel as if his/her life has been sucked out from his/her very own body. Hehe. Pen-ink and black pencil. Simple digital touch up.

My second piece is a doodling which i made during one meeting few months back. Not that i wasnt paying attention to the issues being discussed. I was indeed. But i guess all those left brain and right brain were being put to the test. I was ready too with an answer should my boss say something about my behaviour. Hee hee. Luckily, he didnt.

Third piece is another doodling which i did section by section(filling my time when i was bored or waiting for something). This is a 2-page doodling-one page gray, and one page colour. I cant remember how many days it took me to finish. But, i did it mostly when i was at the rattan workshop during the busy weeks before the Final Project. This is a mindless doodling. Hehe. Pen-ink, range of gray pencils and colour pencils. Enjoy.

Produk Anyaman Kraf Rotan Datang Lagi..

As promised earlier, so here are some pixs of my final students' projects- Rattan Furniture and some minor rattan crafts /products (The required rattan products- A single seater which is only varied in colours and weaving style and their own design.) Some of the forms are plainly weird, nevertheless, i like them. I wish them the best of everything. I do really hope good things are around the corner for their future undertakings. Though i believe there are still few things needed to improve, i believe too they have shown tremendous improvements. I cannot deny the facts that - this batch has become the one that i have most enjoyed and respected in spite of all the roller-coaster mood. I guess that is the beauty of teaching. You experience one personal growth. So once again, best wishes to yer all.

My memory card (digital camera of course, not my memory..hehe) is kaput!! Arghh, That means i lost all the doodlings and pixs taken previously. Well, left here are some doodlings made by ex-students and students. They are on ATC size card. Sorry about the quality since i just shot them using normal digital camera. I think i am going to ask my students to do more this coming semester. A good exercise for them indeed - sharpen and horning their skills. And they seemed to enjoy doing em last semester. Gave them a bit of something other than just rattan crafts. So, who knows, maybe, restnrileks will be posting more of, not only my illos but my students as well.
