I am a sucker for Books on Sketches. I have, three of them, and hopefully, my collection will grow in the future. I love sketches. They are reflections of the designers' thoughts, ideas, problem-solving strategies and visions. Flipping thru one's sketch book, page by page, always gives me a sense of joy. They do vary according to style and purposes; those of the illustrators are always different from ours as product designers. I have to admit, though i am more inclined to clean cut, structural types of sketches, i also like to learn those loose, open wide, jagged n doodling types of sketches. Perhaps, by combining both, i can make my style, even more.... mmmm.. alluring.. haha. wicked!!

One a not-so-serious note, on April, we , had a visit from Allice Smith School. It was a 3-day-rattan-interactive visit of 103 students. They came in three groups of 44-44-15, and parents were there too. They did visit the textile department and try some of the traditional tools. These children were having fun, "spindle the web" which reminds me of "Rapunzel, rapunzel let down your hair.." lol. As interactive, each student did a small basket (check out the "basket" spelling in the pix. Cute :) ) and rattan butterflies. As these were kindergarten children, we had earlier prepared the based. They only needed to do simple weaving, nevertheless, we had a blast of time. Cant say that we were not having hiccups in preparing and conducting the interactive, (especially my staffs kegabraan nak kena deal ngan oghang puteh.. lol), but these were minor hiccups. Even parents joined and made rattan butterflies too. All of us had fun. I like the fact that they are exposing children at young age to the world of Crafts. Great!! I wish more Malaysian schools would follow such step.
Oh.. they loved the muffin.. and i loved em too. lol.
Anyway, have fun and have a great weekend. :)
