Some of the crafts items on display. This is a ribu-ribu weaving, using a technique known as coiling. Previous Rattan coiling works can be read on here and here : )

A quick brainstorming sketch of rattan works during my free time.

An idea for manipulating form using the common rattan "stake and strand" method. I ll show the works in future post.

Another idea done when i am bored or during those long hours of meeting. The coloured sketch is actually design sketch done by one of my students. It is on its way in the making. Hopefully by December, i can post it here. :D Aha!

It has been almost a year since i last participated in Illustration Friday. The exact date was 17 October 2008. Pheww!! That long? Anyway, this week theme is "Flying". I am doing nothing fancy, just straight to the point illo - Here is mine "Flying : Princess Majeeha is having a flying time flying in the outer kingdom. Baby Boo loves flying with her too" Pen ink and colour pencils. Sorry about the quality, since i took the pix using normal handphone camera under bad lighting condition, hence, the result is so much noise. Nevertheless, i hope you enjoy my "Flying". Speaking of Illustration, that brings me to The Contemporary Croatia Drawing which i attended its launch on last Friday. Aha! to those who may notice, this is another post related to Blog for FT. The exhibition is actually part of Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia to present its culture to the world. There are 140 - Whoaho!! - interesting drawings by 70 visual artists being displayed. These works were selected by Croatia art historian and academician, Tonko Maroevic. Works are presented using different medium by artists of various generations, collectively are all about the broader scale of approach and technique, as well as the richness of artistic expression. Wow! i sound artistic using all these art and design language. : )

Contemporary Croatia Drawing is an extensive world tour which began in 2005. To date, it has been exhibited in 20 countries including Jordan, Eygpt, China, Hong Kong and a number of European countries. Main idea is to bring together cultures of participated countries. Surprisingly, Malaysia is the only South - East Asian nation selected to present this exhibition.

So, people of Kuala Lumpur, do come and visit the Contemporary Croatia Drawing exhibited in the Balai Seni Lukis Negara (National Art Gallery), Gallery 2A. The exhibition is from 9 - 31 October 2009. Well, without further a due, i present you pixs of the event ; )

The beautiful girlmore girls of Balai Seni Lukis Negara. The were being sporting striking a pose for a stranger equipped with only N82. Aha!

A creative display greets ya in entering the Balai Seni Lukis Negara. Awesome!! Ompph! I feel my creativtiy juice flowing amuck just looking at the display.

Few of many interesting works that you may find in the gallery. A quick glance, the middle work reminds me of Rafflesia.

I have always loved and being fascinated by eloborated and detailed visual arts. Such a feast to my eyes. Fuhh!! what a meticulous line work. This is a work by Renato Percan called Metamorphosis of the Body.

On friday the last week of Ramadhan, i received an invitation thru email. It was an invitation of "Blog for FT" launch, organized by Ministry of Federal Territory, and jointly organized by few corporate partners. I answered "yes" which later, prior to the event, i regreted in answering it. I am not much of a social person. Me being typical me, hate to be in crowded places, hence, my non-experience in blogger's gathering and such. Lol! I had mixed feelings of going. But then, few of my office mates encouraged me to go.

So, last Monday, with all my mighty might and courage, plus chanting like lunatic to myself (i will go to Pavilion!! 3x!) i went to the so-called event of Blog for FT.

In a nutshell, Blog for FT is a contest to encourage the public to blog about the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan. It is a contest of positive FT blogging.

Here are the objectives (owh! taken directly from the site, word by word)

• To create positive Internet buzz about the Federal Territories (FT).
• To promote the spirit of 1Malaysia.
• To serve as a powerful marketing and promotional tool for KL, Putrajaya & Labuan.
• To highlight the positive activities being carried out by individuals, charities and groups in the Federal Territories.

• Blog positively on any aspect of the Federal Territories; life, heritage, nature, history, architecture or on any subject close to your heart.

• The contest starts on October 5, 2009 and ends on January 5, 2010.

• Malaysian Public - This category is open to all Malaysian citizens except those that fall under the Malaysian Media or the Junior Categories.
• Junior - This category is open only to Malaysian citizens below the age of 18 as at 31 December 2009.
• Malaysian Media - This category is open to employees of Malaysian Media Companies registered with the Malaysian Government.
• International - This category is open to non-Malaysian citizens.

Phew! Finally, i made it. Done my 40minutes of running. I was puffing, huffing and puffing. It was good to be able to run again. Well, at 30minutes, i was already covering 6km. Then i just slowed down my pace, slower than those makciks running berlari2 anak antara bukit safar dan marwah. Finally, a 7km of 43minutes. Nothing to be proud of if comparing to those hardcore aka passionate runners. Anyway, i ll edit this live blogging later. Enjoy
